Highlights

The Black History Festival 2024 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Columbus Airport Marriot Hotel from 22 to 24 February 2024. It was a vibrant celebration of the heritage, culture, and achievements of people of African descent worldwide. The event brought together participants from Africa (Ghana, South Africa, Senegal, Uganda, Kenya, Namibia and others), the diaspora, and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), fostering cultural exchange, trade opportunities, and educational partnerships. Supported by esteemed partners such as H.E. Hilda Suka Mafudze, H.E. Dr. Jules Didacus, One Voice Consortium, and the Center of African Studies at Ohio State University, the festival highlighted unity and progress through engaging leadership, diverse representation, and impactful collaboration, paving the way for sustainable global connections. It had the 2024 edition of the Black History Makers Awards that honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Marcus J. Garvey, Mayor Michael Coleman, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Alex Apau Dadey and others.
